Evaluation

An Evaluation takes place prior to development and involves an investigation of a sample of the development site, taking the form of a trench or test pit excavation.

Historic Building Recording

Historic Building Recording is undertaken to record a standing structure of historic or architectural significance that may be altered as a result of the redevelopment of a site.

Building recording can range from simple photographic surveys to more intensive drawn record with documentary analysis

Excavation

When a programme of fieldwork takes place there will often be a need for Post-Excavation Assessment, involving preparation, quantification, cataloguing and preliminary assessment of archaeological material.
